Wellness During a Pandemic - Lower Back Health

Wellness During a Pandemic - Lower Back Health

Just as it’s very difficult to see your dentist for routine visits, the same likely applies to your chiropractor.

In the past few weeks our lives have been turned upside down, and our bodies are moving differently than ever before – maybe more, maybe less, but almost certainly the daily routine of how our bodies are used has shifted. This can put more stress on our body’s building blocks and core musculature and structure.

So what can you do when you can’t visit your chiro? Probably take a chiropractor’s advice on how to keep your lower back strong and healthy! Here is a great article we came across that talks about just that. A lower back routine to keep you strong and feeling great through these unique times.

Wellness During a Pandemic - Keep Your Gut Healthy

It goes without saying that we are in unprecedented times. All of us at Churchill Meadows Dental Centre hope that you and your family are all keeping safe during this pandemic.

While we can’t do as much as we’d like to help your oral health and total wellness, we’d like to pass along some resources that might help you continue to be as healthy and well as possible while isolating as a family or on your own.

The first is this fantastic article containing tips and tricks to keep the microbiome in your gut as healthy and strong as possible. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept of gut and microbiome health, this is a great place to start as Tim Spector does a great job mapping out just why it’s so important in the first place.

CMDC COVID - 19 PANDEMIC UPADTE - APRIL 6

April 5, 2020

Dear Patient,

As the COVID-19 pandemic situation continues to evolve, we have been closely monitoring and following the recommendations of our dental college (RCDSO) and Public Health.

At this time, the RCDSO strongly advises that all non-essential and elective dental services should be suspended immediately.  Any dental emergencies can only be seen following a phone screening AND with proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in place.

As a result Churchill Meadows Dental Centre will be closed until restrictions are lifted by our college and we are not in a state of emergency.

This decision is made in an effort to minimize the spread of the virus and to ensure safety of our patients, their families and our staff.  Your overall health and well being is of the utmost importance to us.  We all share the responsibility to help reduce the spread of this virus and protect those more vulnerable than ourselves.

Please note that as a result of this closure, ALL scheduled appointments will be placed on hold.

If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a message on our voicemail which will be checked periodically.

If you are experiencing a dental emergency or wish to speak with Dr. Patel, please contact Dr. Patel directly on his cell phone at 647-688-8058 at any time.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times.  We extend best wishes to you and your family for continued good health and look forward to seeing you once this crisis has passed.

Sincerely,

Dr. Pravir Patel and Dr. Geeta Gupta

CMDC COVID-19 Pandemic Update

Dear Patient,

As the COVID-19 pandemic situation continues to evolve, we have been closely monitoring and following the recommendations of our dental college (RCDSO) and Public Health.

At this time, the RCDSO strongly advises that all non-essential and elective dental services should be suspended immediately. Churchill Meadows Dental Centre will be available limited days and hours effective March 16th, 2020 to see dental emergencies who pass the screening protocol by telephone booked appointments only.

This decision is made in an effort to minimize the spread of the virus and to ensure safety of our patients, their families and our staff. Your overall health and well being is of the utmost importance to us. We all share the responsibility to help reduce the spread of this virus and protect those more vulnerable than ourselves. What this means for our dental office staff and patients is the following:

  1. All dental cleaning / hygiene appointments scheduled between March 16, 2020 and April 4, 2020 will be cancelled and rescheduled after April 6 after the suggested isolation period.
  2. We will be available remotely on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 9am to 12noon to answer any questions you may have and to reschedule appointments.
  3. During this period of temporary partial closure, we will be available for dental emergencies involving pain, swelling, infection, and trauma for patients who pass the screening protocol by telephone booked appointments only. Please contact us at (905) 814-4001. For emergencies after hours – Dr. Patel can be reached directly on his cell at (647) 688-8058.
  4. As new information becomes available and our college advises that dental offices can resume normal operations, we will be ready to return to our routine practices.

We thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times. We extend best wishes to you and your family for continued good health and look forward to seeing you once this crisis has passed.

Sincerely,

Dr. Pravir Patel and Dr. Geeta Gupta
